rebecca - mother of ten

Rebecca and her husband live near Olympia, WA with her ten children. She had difficulty nursing most of her children until she discovered that wearing her babies stimulated her ability to nurse without supplementation, due to the mother-infant attachment and bonding experience it provides. She was thrilled with this finding and wanted to pass it along to others, but found that the baby wraps available were too heavy and hot, which made it feel like she was wearing a lot of extra clothes rather than wearing her baby. Rebecca has always loved sewing and pattern making, so she set to work to create a more practical wrap: newer, lighter, and one that was attractive enough for mothers - or fathers to love. The result was the Family Ties Baby Wrap by So Nurturing. Rebecca believes strongly that children are precious gifts, and wanted to give her baby - any yours - the opportunity for continuous bonding throughout the day, even with our busy lifestyles.

shari - mother, psychotherapist, and child mental health specialist

Shari lives near Bellevue, WA with her daughter and has two sons at university. Her daughter uses the wraps to transport her three wiener dogs, who she adores, anywhere she wants to go. Shari is a retired Attorney, who then became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Children and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist in order to help parents and children grow up healthier. She has studied and teaches about the great importance of attachment parenting in her private practice. Living in Africa for over 15 years, she studied the concept of babywearing in infant development. Good attachment in infancy and early childhood can determine the ease or dis-ease your child will have in all his or her intimate relationships throughout the course of your baby's lifetime. The So Nurturing Family Ties Baby Wraps facilitate constant comfort and soothing, helping your baby feel emotionally and physically secure as well as sustaining the physiological connectedness between parent and child. When the baby feels your heartbeat, hears your voice and feels the motion of your body, the effects can be better sleep, less crying, and more positive attachment for life.
